Overview The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is an international association of women employed in all areas of the construction industry from skilled trades to business ownership. NAWIC was started in 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas by a group of women employed in the construction industry. Since this time, NAWIC has grown to a membership of more than 4,500 with hundreds of chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
