The National Association of Women in Construction "NAWIC" was founded in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1955.  Since its founding, NAWIC has grown to a membership of more than 187 chapters in 48 US States.  Since 1996, NAWIC has signed International affiliate agreements with NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, SAWIC (South Africa Women in Construction, NAWIC-United Kingdom, and CAWIC (Canadian Women in Construction).

 

In its years of service to its membership, NAWIC has advanced the causes and careers of all women employed in construction from the skilled trades to business ownership. The Long Beach Area Chapter, part of Region 12, was chartered November 16, 1974  and meets monthly on the third Wednesday of each month.

To enhance the Success of Women employed in the construction industry.
