We are currently seeking an Financial Aid Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team at our corporate offices located in Irvine CA. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is assigned to the technical aspects of various regulatory reporting mandated by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) with an emphasis on enrollment reporting functions to the National Student Loan Data Systems (NSLDS).  The position requires the ability to work with a sense of urgency in order to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.  The position requires analytical skills and the ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency. In addition, the position requires that all job responsibilities are completed accurately and compliantly in accordance with Regulations, Policies and Procedures


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all federal, state and accreditor rules and regulations and institutional policy and procedures
  • Ability to review and interpret federal requirements
  • Review enrollment rosters each month for accuracy
  • Work exception reports and enrollment reporting error rosters returned each month from NSLDS in a timely manner
  • Ability to develop long term solutions to enrollment reporting issues
  • Maintain current on federal regulations and requirements with respect to the accuracy of NSLDS data
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Other duties as assigned


  • At least one year of experience in a financial aid department of an accredited, post-secondary career education institution, preferably

  • Associate’s degree or comparable work experience required.

  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

  • Experience using federal website, specifically NSLDS preferable

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel

  • Ability to meet deadlines and execute multiple priorities
