Job Description

If you are a talented writer and strong team player who enjoys taking complex ideas and distilling them into content that engages and informs, we want to talk to you. As a content creator on Liferay’s Marketing team, you will play an integral role in shaping the way we communicate the Liferay culture, products and brand to our key audiences. You will be working with a close-knit, fun-loving group of marketers in Liferay’s global headquarters in Diamond Bar, Calif. In this role, you will be developing marketing content to help execute U.S. and worldwide campaigns, product launches and branding/messaging. The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience working as a writer and content creator in the software industry. A journalism background and enterprise software knowledge are pluses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Write and produce whitepapers, case studies, blogs, web copy, video scripts, infographics and other content to support marketing initiatives
  • Research industry-related topics to support vertical campaigns and generate new content ideas
  • Identify potential customers’ interests and continuously produce new content pieces
  • Manage the content creation process from idea to execution of the final product, working closely with our design and social media team members
  • Support the sales team through the creation of product sheets and other marketing collateral
  • Engage with customers in producing customer testimonials and stories
  • Work collaboratively with other teams including products and sales to support organizational needs
  • Support the promotion and distribution of content on social media, email, third-party ads and other channels
  • Use SEO guidelines in creating and improving content
  • Edit and proofread incoming content from other departments or partners

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Ability to own and project manage a number of cross-team creative initiatives

  • Analytical thinker who can grasp complex ideas and communicate them simply and effectively
  • Ability to exercise good judgment on appropriate/ effective content to reach target audiences
  • Strong sense of responsibility leading to meeting deadlines promptly and consistently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 4+ years working as a journalist or content creator in the IT industry
  • Enterprise software industry knowledge and experience
