Position Overview

The Production Chemist II provides production support for chemistry related process, and assists the Research and Development department with analysis and experimentation on substances, for product development and application. Job duties:
  • Performs chemical processes for production devices.
  • Supports validation of product, and processes.
  • Interfaces with other departments to solve production problems.
  • Devises and develops formulas, processes and methods for solution of technical problems.
  • Conducts research on currently manufactured products to evaluate and improve product.
  • Perform DOE and ANOVA type statistical analysis of process.
  • Prepares reports on projects for presentation to regulatory agencies, conferences or for use in future research.
  • Maintains laboratory with equipment, raw material and supplies.

Qualifications
  1. BS in Chemistry
  2. Zero to three (0-3) years of experience in analytical chemistry.
  3. Experience/knowledge of organic synthesis.
  4. Solid communications skills (writing, record-keeping)
  5. Team-player
Desired Qualifications
  1. Process development and optimization experience.
  2. Statistical analysis experience (ability to design experiments), AutoCAD and SolidWorks and MiniTab Statistical software or equivalent.
  3. MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Access).
  4. Knowledge of processes required for handling hazardous materials.
  5. Prior experience in medical device research.
