Job Description

Northrop GrummanAerospace Systems has an immediate opportunity for an Integrated Product Team(IPT) Lead / Manager 3 on the F-35 Program based in Redondo Beach, CA. This IPTwill improveorganizational effectiveness by improving customer satisfaction,maximizing the effectiveness of resources, streamlining processes andreduce cycle times by implementing better tools and integration between teams tomeet the objectives of the program and sector.

In this position, thekey roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, thefollowing:

  • Must have an extensive background in planningand scheduling and understand the integration of planning and execution ofmajor proposals and program change requests

  • Must beable to remove boundaries between engineering, production, Global Supply Chain,sustainment and project management, and have the ability to lead the TechnicalIntegration teams who contribute to the building and execution of the masterplans and schedules. Mentor Planners and Estimators to develop skills forschedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting (funding) for allIPTs and other technical activities relating to the projects and proposals

  • Must beable to manage 50 employees from multiple organizations and streamlineprocesses to meet program goals and objectives

  • Serve as the IPT responsible for managing theoverall lifecycle for the schedule change process from receiving Customerrequirement new baseline and changes to managing execution of the new requirement

    • CustomerRequirements (RFPs, Major Proposals, CRs)

    • Requirements/Schedule (SOW Contractual Deliverables, Define and Allocate)

    • Estimating(TA's and BOEs)

    • Planning (Load Business Systems (MPM, SAP), Align Estimate to Plan Baselineplanning, Integrated Master Schedule, Project Management, Earned ValueManagement, and Staffing)

    • Execution (Reporting, Earned Value Management, Risk and Opportunity Management,Financial Management, Quality and Customer Satisfaction)

  • Providesupport to the Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) leaders to facilitate thecompletion of Baseline Planning, Proposals and Major Master Schedule changes.This position implements and ensures vertical and horizontal integration forprocesses throughout the IPTs which requires coordination between BusinessManagement, Production, Global Supply Chain, Sustainment, International, andProgram Office.  Responsible to work across functional organizationswithin the Program to ensure projects (with specific SOW) are formed forquality product deliverables to be submitted to the end customer within cost,schedule and technical requirement constraints.

  • Must beable to do the analysis of EVMS, schedules, statements of work and presentstatus and explain variances to the IPTs and Leadership

  • Providestaffing visibility for the program in detail

  • Integratewith the other IPTs that will require support from this IPT in ProgramIntegration   Must provide status and visibility for alldeliverables to leadership. Provide leadership skills to the organization tosuccessfully support every phase of the schedule life cycle, from conceptualdevelopment to implementation.  

  • Must beable to provide technical solutions which incorporates reducing costs,increasing efficiency (productivity), while maintaining flexibility(adaptability) to change in meeting business objectives in a dynamicenvironment. 

  • Provenskills in developing people and teams are a plus. Position also requiresproven skill in leading initiatives and the ability to interface with alllevels of management and employees. The EVMS Planning, Master Planning,Advanced Planning, OPM, Master Scheduling, and Estimating organizations reportto this position. Travel will be required minimum 25%

  • Perceptive – sees the “big picture” and is ableto understand the Statement of Work (SOW) at the IPT level, but is also able tofocus on the details and can see potential opportunities to gain operationalefficiencies and drive affordability.

  • Possess Good Judgment– becomes a key resourceand the “go-to” person for the Executive Leadership Team on the F-35 Programand can be trusted to provide good guidance decisions affecting utilization ofcompany resources.

  • Excellent Communicator – possesses very strongwritten and oral communication skills.

Basic Qualifications: 

-      Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 7 years of related experience

-      Management Experience or Project Management with teams of 10 or more employees

-      Proven leadership skills, ability to develop and enhance processes, and lead teams to drive toward timely execution.

-      Demonstrated Project Management Experience including EVMS and Master Planning, Estimating, and Master Scheduling experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

-      Bachelor or Master of Science in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) Related Fields and/or MBA

-      Program and Functional Management Experience
