Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role is for an electrical engineer with software experience to support testbed hardware design and build. A background in hands on wok with an integrated space vehicle testbed is preferred. Additional characteristics include proven ability to interface with many diverse technical disciplines, excellent communications skills with customers, peers and management.

Responsibilities include:

- Architecture trades and prototyping
- Decomposition of requirements flow down
- Simulator/emulator HW design & development
- Integration testing and troubleshooting at the system level
- Test planning and execution
- Interaction with software design engineers


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an ABET accredited university and 5 years of engineering experience in an aerospace/defense environment OR
Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an ABET accredited university with 3 years of engineering experience in an aerospace/defense environment. 
- An active SCI clearance
 
Preferred Qualifications:

- Systems engineering experience with complex systems

- Excellent communications skills with both internal and external customers

- Experience building test sets or integrating commercially available products

- Experience in reading and creating electrical and mechanical drawings

- AMP 2 and/or NGP program experience

- HW design, integration, and testing in testbed or systems integration lab environments
