Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
 
Job SummaryPrepare product reliability plane, establish requirements for and monitor reliability programs.  Perform or review reliability analyses and prepare reports.  Assess performance with respect to reliability requirements.  Evaluate effectiveness of the failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action implementation. Support logistics activities and reporting. Support project systems and design teams. Establish reliability models and utilize models for systems and subsystems analysis.  Develop reliability trade-off studies, as requested (WCA, SEEA, Circuit analyses, etc.). Support continuous refinement and improvement of development methodologies and processes.  Supports project team meetings and reviews, with a high degree of personal and professional responsibility. Routine technical and programmatic interface with Project Managers, Project Element Managers, Task Managers, and Mission Assurance Managers to develop appropriate reliability engineering requirements and plans for Space Projects.


Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Requires Bachelor of Science degree with equivalent course work in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent field, and at least 15 years of experience in electronic systems reliability activities.
  • Experience and skills must include digital, analog, or RF design and analysis, such as Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Worst Case Analysis (WCA), Electronic Parts Stress Analysis (PSA), and Single-Events Effects Analysis (SEEA)       
  • Experienced in reliability assessment, modeling, prediction trade off studies, and system evaluations.
  • Skilled in failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action.
  • Desired experience and skill in FPGA and firmware development (design, implementation, simulation, and verification) and implementation of data processing architecture in a mixed hardware/software environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including and use of computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and ability to work with multiple interfaces is required
