Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking a SoftwareEngineer/Principal Software Engineer in Northridge, CA. Relocationassistance, while not guaranteed, may be available for this position.

Job Summary:
Perform embedded software development for missile systems. In this role as anembedded software developer, you will support design, coding, testing,integration, and verification of mission critical platforms, includingvehicles, sensors, and/or communications. As a team member you will besupporting software requirements development, software integration at both theunit level and systems level, software testing, and hardware/softwareintegration. You will be expected to follow a CMMI level 3 software developmentprocess, including documentation that supports the development process.

      

Job Responsibilities:
Follow Software Development Plan
Follow Software Requirement Specification
Follow CMMI Level 3 software development processes
Develop software designs using Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Develop software and conduct code reviews
Execute test plans and procedures allocated to software
Perform software unit testing and hardware-software integration
Interface with hardware engineers to address hardware issues
Support software integration activities in the lab and in the field
Interface with I&T team to support testing and analyze test results

Supportsystem-level verification and validation
Participate in the development of design documentation, test plans/procedures,test reports

 

Thisposition may be filled at a higher grade based upon qualifications listedbelow.



Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications: 

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 (Engineer) or level 3 (Principal Engineer).

 

Basic qualifications for level 2: 

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics
  • 2 years engineering experience
  • Active US DoD issued Secret Clearance (or higher)
  • Experience programming in C/C

 

Basic qualifications for level 3: 

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics
  • 5 years engineering experience
  • Active US DoD issued Secret Clearance (or higher)
  • Experience programming in C/C   

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience programming for real-time operating systems
  • Experience with object-oriented design and implementation (UML)
  • Familiarity with standard software lifecycle processes
  • Knowledge of CMMI Level 3 process guidelines
  • Software testing/debugging in a laboratory environment
