DESCRIPTION

This Operations, Training, and Promotions Section recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. Only applications from current qualified OCFA Fire Captains and Fire Apparatus Engineers will be accepted.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operations, Training, and Promotions is now recruiting one (1) Academy Coordinator for the upcoming Fire Apparatus Engineer Academy 31.  This position requires a twelve week (12) week administrative assignment on a forty-hour workweek schedule (4/10 - Monday through Thursday).  Instructors will be eligible for training staff assignment pay of 7.5% plus 10% in addition to their base salary. 
 
The Fire Apparatus Engineer Academy 31 commitment begins December 5, 2019 and concludes on February 27, 2020.  The first day of Academy 31 begins January 6, 2020.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • OCFA Fire Captain
  • OCFA Fire Apparatus Engineer

HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Those who meet the following general qualifications will be considered:
  • Instructor 1A and 1B or Instructor 1 or equivalent
  • Computer skills with fluency in the Windows environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong written communications skills
  • Strong technical skills
  • No long-term vacations scheduled
