Currently, we are seeking a talented Network Infrastructure Director to join the Corporate Division in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE. The Corporate Division supports the goals and initiatives of all other divisions throughout the company and its subsidiaries. These departments include: Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Development, Public Affairs, Safety & Security, Legal & Compliance.

POSITION SUMMARY

Pacific Life is investing in its global network to support its digital transformation journey. As such, we are looking for a Network Infrastructure Director that will help us build a resilient network that will not only meet today’s needs, but the needs of the future. This leader will oversee network architect and design, network operations, network security and telecommunications. The leader will provide expert consultation and leadership to these key areas and help us build a world-class network environment. The successful candidate will have led a global network team in a Fortune 500 environment and will have significant experience in managing a global network environment. 

• Lead a team of network and telecommunication architects, engineers and SMEs responsible for the design, installation, security and maintenance of our network and telecommunications environment.
• Manage the end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; eventually automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
• Build a world-class team that deploys systems and processes capable of detecting and eliminating network performance issues while improving availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.  Identify continuous improvement opportunities, and drive towards availability targets and optimization of our network infrastructure.
• Lead the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment and software; defining network policies and procedures; administering connections and firewalls.
• Oversee global WAN/MPLS network, campus LAN, wireless, telecom circuits, and internet connectivity, and associated equipment suppliers and service providers.
• Responsible for remote office network implementations and capacity expansion.
• Communicating complex details in a way that people can understand. Collaborating with people at all levels in the organization and ensuring all stakeholders are in the loop. Closely work with business stakeholders, support team and engineering teams in providing solutions to the issues and managing the service SLAs.
• Collaborate with other infrastructure, information security, application and support teams in resolving all network issues. Create and maintain vendor relations, develop network project plans and work with senior leadership on budgeting.
• Secure Pacific Life’s network by working together with our corporate security team; establishing and enforcing policies; and deploying enterprise security tools and systems to protect and monitor access.

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS

• 10+ years leading a global network team in a 24x7 enterprise environment.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering, implementing, and supporting global networks.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in routing, switching, firewalls & security infrastructure and protocols.
• Experience leading remote teams.
• Knowledge of SDN, SDWAN, and large scale distributed internet systems
• Significant experienced in managing and improving business critical network environments
• Strong understanding of public cloud architecture
• Effective communicator with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and with experience presenting the business side of technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• B.S/MS in Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent experience and certifications
