  • Overview

    The temporary Videographer/Video Editor will work directly with other Video Editors and Producers to create innovative and pedagogically appropriate videos for SAGE through creative storytelling, whether for products or internal use. The temporary will manage individual projects, with limited guidance from the Supervising Videographer/Video Editor or Senior Videographer/Video Editor. Initiative and creativity is expected in working with Producers to deliver quality projects that meet deadlines and budgets. This temporary project will go through November 2019.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Film and edit and deliver video and audio content including live action, marketing, sizzle reels, and original production
    • Together with the Producer, translate the pedagogical and marketing aims of internal stakeholders into quality videos
    • Work closely with global team of Videographers, Editors, and Producers to film and edit multiple, concurrent project shoots in the office, offsite, and at other video events
    • Set up shoots with proper lighting techniques using both artificial and natural lighting
    • Block shots using creative angles
    • Identify opportunities to capture b-roll
    • Postproduction editing of video, audio, and media assets, delivering quality videos and audio files according to SAGE’s toolkit
    • Acting as a visual storyteller, editing narrative and contributing to the creative direction of projects
    • Create simple graphics for lower thirds, templated slides, and more, showing a proficiency in aesthetics and design principles
    • Ingest media assets into a digital asset management system and assign metadata
    • Perform quality checks on videos and audio files, upholding agreed standards of quality and branding
    • Deliver media to internal and external clients
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently with various stakeholders in a larger production process
    • Complete other various tasks within the Global Digital Production Department as required

    The additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Travel to offsite shoots and assist as needed
    • Create animated videos or sequences using After Effects

    Qualifications & Education

    • Extensive and recent knowledge of video production, including video production workflows and technology
    • Fundamental understanding of audio and video
    • A well-rounded portfolio of work and a proven track record
    • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and with working knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
    • Experience working with camera, audio, and lighting equipment
    • Proficient with Youtube, Vimeo, CDNs, and project management software
