Description: An Adapted Physical Education Specialist provides small group and one-on-one instruction to students using adapted physical education techniques, to improve physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, or sports and game achievement.  An Adapted Physical Education Specialist will communicate on-going student progress to parents/guardians, general education teachers, school administration, district personnel and other service professionals via progress reporting and Individual Education Plans. The Adapted Physical Education Specialist is responsible for maintaining on-going compliance in accordance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).


Position requirements:

  • Must hold a valid credential/certification authorizing APE services or must hold a valid Physical Education Credential and be enrolled in an APE program.
  • Familiar with IEPs and IFSP, preferred, but not required

This position requires that employees use Independent clinical judgment, well-developed communication skills, and be team and client focused.
